Soap making for beginners Saturday 7th September£45.00Learn hands on how to make traditional cold process soap, and how to adapt recipes to your own personal preference.You will also be shown how to use previously prepared soap base to create artistic designs, colours and fragrances.All products vegetarian. Gloves, eye protectors and ingredients will all be supplied on the day allowing you to process 6-8 bars of soap which you can take home. Willow weaving - Saturday 31st August£60.00Willow Weaving tutor, Maxine Tricker will be coming to Brakehill Lodge Farm on Saturday 31st Auguts to run a willow weaving course. Workshops are suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience. Learn a variety of techniques for sculpture and hangings for interior or exterior pieces.Students will be able to achieve a selection of sample pieces combining weaving, wrapping and braiding.Remember to wear suitable clothes as we will be in the barn.Willow is prepared about a week in advance of each workshop and can be selected for your project if you let us know.Price is £45 for the day to include lunch and all tools. The materials are £15.
Candle making for beginners - Saturday 19th October 2019£45.00Learn hands on how to make handmade candles that will burn well and give off a beautiful fragrance.Your tutor will show you how to adapt recipes to your own personal preference.You will also be shown how to make candles with colours and fragrances, each student will go home with 1 large and 2 small candles, or 2 large candles at the end of the session. Wool rug making - peg looming craft - Saturday 21st September£60.00Come and meet Sarah Francis who has many years experience of weaving, spinning wool, and working with sheep in Norfolk.Participants would take away 2 pieces for this session. One working mainly with commercial yarns and one working with raw sheep’s fleece.Start time 10am - 3pm with an hour break for a farmhouse lunch.Simple peg looms available to buy from £10 on the day.There will be a spinning demo along with photos of the flock of sheep and preparation process to help understand from beginning to end. Cost of the day is £45 which covers the tutor fee, all tools, and your lunch.
